It’s not that actually, there were few updates but in Facebook. They’re all about tags. My friends went tag crazy. And people are crazy tweeting as well. Anyway, taking some time off to write about thumbdrive.
I AM IN DIRE NEED OF A THUMBDRIVE. Why I didn’t try to get one all this while is beyond me. It’s not that expensive. I guess I was just too lazy to go these IT places alone. But oh my god do I need one. Ok before I get carried away by the absence of a tiny cheap gadget, it’s already March people! Just when I thought I still have 12 months to go…
Long break really knocks me back at work – I spent half day figuring what everyone else was doing the past week so I could write the report. And then some. Urghhh!!! Now I’m in between controllers and models, trying out to figure out what did I do last week. I hate leaving on a spur like that because I didn’t do enough mental notes to connect to when I get back to it.
It is now 3.30pm, 2 more hours I’ll rush out of here. I don’t know, sometimes it happens to people I guess. There are days when the stars are just not aligned, the moon is not so bright, the wind seems stale, etc, you get the idea. Oh well at least I get a week break which is never a bad thing. Only now I have started to realized how busy I’m going to be the rest of this year.
Already given the assignment on computer networks. I never liked networks — eeek! Binary tree and such is such a welcoming balance to this semester. I don’t really care how computers are interconnected, just get me a working one, well connected one and let me build the apps ok. You worry about setting up the infrastructure, I worry about how to store the data and manipulate them. Isn’t that sound nicer. There’s network programming paper coming up – wonder whether or not will I like it. We’ll see.
I’m rambling.
Better go now before I start saying more nonsensical stuff.
On last note: I have this sudden, an immense liking to bachata music. Just perfect to listen to at night, especially if you have that special someone. Warning: if you don’t like latin music, don’t bother. You have been warned – you are prohibited to cringe upon listening.
Listen to it while you can, I’m going to take it down in a few days and after that you’re on your own

Somebody help me with this please!
I knew I had to finish up some stuff this weekend but I kept on delaying it until the last minute, this very wee hour. You know what I did the whole weekend? Friday night, I was out with family. Saturday, the whole day I spent watching tv – you don’t know how tv-deprived I was. Saturday nite, I can’t remember what I did actually. On Sunday, I woke up really late doing stuff I don’t remember what the night before. I didn’t go straight to work, instead I went cleaning up my room, rearranged and refolding clothes, took a long shower (my heater is broken! isk), watched some more tv, watched some dvd’s, well until it was 11. I went to play games after that (that expert level on Majesty rox). Made some coffee, grilled some fish, downloaded some music, then only I started looking at the work I was supposed to do. It was 2am.
Why did I procastinate?
On a side note, have to work on FOSSchix.my soon. I don’t think any meeting can be held before that FOSS meetup. So sad, there’s something coming up on 3 – 5 Dec. Damn you government for holding so many events and what’s that star rating.

Yea, last time was at my former workplace – when we had to travel the previous day. By late, I mean really late like 12pm onwards. Ganee would allow use to come in late usually because the travels practically took the whole day. Another reason was because we only got to be back home for a weekend or so before flying back to Brunei. He was letting us spending time with family I guess.
There was one time when we had to stay back for CIMB up until 2am or something. It was nice to see “You can come in by 10 tomorrow” on my phone that night. Also there was a time when I didn’t sleep for 3 days for some major bugs fixing/feature requests but still had to go to work. Of course I didn’t look so well that day and he noticed it. After making asking around the office, he found out why and let me go off early at 3pm.
Come to think about it, if I were to stay awake for some work at my current workplace I don’t think I would do it though. There’s no kind of that flexibility here so why would I want torture myself. Besides, being appreciative is not what they are – on the contrary, they like to take the credits away from you. Sadly, this is how the government works. Why would I lament on this I don’t know. It’s not going to change soon anyway no matter how much I talk about it.
A little appreciation goes a long long way. For me, if I know my work is being recognized I would happily volunteer if there’s a need to stay back. I knew Ganee was observant enough to know the effort I put in that time so I didn’t mind to spend more time on it to get it done. I knew it would be reflected in the bonus. They bought me cakes on my birthday, they treated us to TGI after projects had been completed, they got us to Redang for 3D/2N holiday, the pantry always stocked up with food and we had PS2 to relax in between stresses. 3 days with no sleep? I didn’t mind at all.
Hey I love my job, it’s really easy to make me go the extra mile – be flexible, give laptops/dual screens and treat me like a human being.
OSCC people are really cool, seriously. But MAMPU really is killing us. Usually we would come on top which I believe came from the strength we all share – we know what we do and we respect each other. Yes we have our flaws but let’s not be negative now. We have just won AIPA for MyMeeting, the mood should be happy – other than that, really don’t know what to say on this. I should be happy but then again, for something to win an AIPA, it should be something more. Anyway, they were so happy today that they took pictures among themselves with the trophies they forgot the team who developed it in the first place. I wonder where that RM10k money prize will go. It is definitely interesting to watch and I suspect it would make a good bitching post next time.

I don’t know what else to say. I have a label dedicated for Hajah last time, really don’t want it to repeat. It doesn’t affect me directly but at least I have a heart. Anyway, initial intention was to ngumpat but after some consideration (plus it had been a happy day for me) I leave the title to speak for itself.
Also someone looked quite handsome today – or was it my eyes been blinded by too much screen staring. Sometimes people look quite different through glasses and in real life. Aiya I need to go see some movie. Get some romantic ideas to celebrate August.
Really itchy to post some pointless pix but maybe later. Really really itchy to get that LPI thing going but I’m already sleepy. First night of having streamyx in the comfort of my room deserves some highlight here: I FINALLY HAVE INTERNET CONNECTION AT HOME. What a brag haha. Hey first nights are special aren’t they.
Oh yeah my brother is now a qualified engineer (or so). Tanam anggur currently but I understand why he’s doing it. Pix are lots but malas now.
Looks like I’m not mengumpat at all. Sorry for those who’ve been anticipating. Juicy details has to be in pidgin or during cheap talk among us the app team…. lalalala… I love these people, Saro, Eavay, Pak Lah, and Mr. Foong of course (heh) – janjiku bukan sekadar janji-janji manis. Akan kukotakan jua.
