If you’ve been facebooking long enough you’ll probably are addicted to it by now. Be it updating your status oh so frequently, or playing games, or keep on refreshing your home page, or refreshing your own profile page (freak!), or simply stalking other people’s profiles, or if you’re new you’ll probably be crazy adding new friends now.

I’m one of those who likes the games there. I’m quite a powerful vampire there, among my friends that is. And ever since I found out they have Bejeweled on Facebook, I’ve been playing like crazy. Recently, quizzes have become quite a thing in there. I don’t really bother, coz some of them are just bogus or plain stupid. One example, there was a quiz testing on your arabic language. The questions were sooo easy kindergarten level like and of course I got all right (only 5 of them) and the result came out that I can speak and understand the language very well…. Excuse me?? Did NOT worth my time at all. From then on I only picked the ones I deem worthy of my brain power…. scam jek.

I think I update my status quite often, not that I’m so rajin to update it there myself. It’s because I use identi.ca – more preferred way of keeping up to date among my friends/colleagues. I get the updates in my Pidgin which is far more convenient than browsing my Facebook home page, although I sometimes check to read/reply comments. I’ve blogged before about posting to multiple sites using Pidgin – read it here. Using Pidgin also I can receive Facebook chats using some plugin, thanks to Indhran for his post here. This solves my problem on not noticing the message people send to me in there. I don’t even have to open the site and login. Coolness.

It’s been a while

It’s not that actually, there were few updates but in Facebook. They’re all about tags. My friends went tag crazy. And people are crazy tweeting as well. Anyway, taking some time off to write about thumbdrive.

I AM IN DIRE NEED OF A THUMBDRIVE. Why I didn’t try to get one all this while is beyond me. It’s not that expensive. I guess I was just too lazy to go these IT places alone. But oh my god do I need one. Ok before I get carried away by the absence of a tiny cheap gadget, it’s already March people! Just when I thought I still have 12 months to go…

Long break really knocks me back at work – I spent half day figuring what everyone else was doing the past week so I could write the report. And then some. Urghhh!!! Now I’m in between controllers and models, trying out to figure out what did I do last week. I hate leaving on a spur like that because I didn’t do enough mental notes to connect to when I get back to it.

It is now 3.30pm, 2 more hours I’ll rush out of here. I don’t know, sometimes it happens to people I guess. There are days when the stars are just not aligned, the moon is not so bright, the wind seems stale, etc, you get the idea. Oh well at least I get a week break which is never a bad thing. Only now I have started to realized how busy I’m going to be the rest of this year.

Already given the assignment on computer networks. I never liked networks — eeek! Binary tree and such is such a welcoming balance to this semester. I don’t really care how computers are interconnected, just get me a working one, well connected one and let me build the apps ok. You worry about setting up the infrastructure, I worry about how to store the data and manipulate them. Isn’t that sound nicer. There’s network programming paper coming up – wonder whether or not will I like it. We’ll see.

I’m rambling.

Better go now before I start saying more nonsensical stuff.

On last note: I have this sudden, an immense liking to bachata music. Just perfect to listen to at night, especially if you have that special someone. Warning: if you don’t like latin music, don’t bother. You have been warned – you are prohibited to cringe upon listening.

IM => Identi.ca + Twitter + Facebook

Like everyone else, I have so many places to update my so called status/what am I doing at the moment/my rants and raves. In my case, I have Identi.ca (open source version of Twitter) + Twitter (so many following me here) + Facebook (I have 100+ friends there) status to update. You have to admit, it’s hard to keep up these days.

I’ve found a way to update all 3 using any IM (I use Pidgin). The idea is you send your status via IM to update your Identi.ca, in turn this will update your Twitter and Facebook account. Obviously you need to have accounts on all of them. After all is done, follow these steps:

On Identi.ca

• Go to Settings page -> IM tab. Enter your Jabber/Gtalk email address
• Go to your preferred IM. Add update@identi.ca in your buddies list
• You’ll receive a message to validate the email address you just entered belongs to you.
• Click on the link provided to confirm it
• Go to Settings page -> Twitter tab. Enter your Twitter username and password
• Check the box ‘Automatically send my notices to Twitter’. Click ‘Add’.

On Facebook

• Login and add Twitter application. Click on ‘Allow’.
• Enter your Twitter username and password
• It will bring you the app page. Click on ‘+ Allow Twitter to Update Your Facebook Status’
• ‘Allow Status Updates from Twitter?’ -> click on ‘Allow Status Updates’

Now you’re all set. Whenever you want to update your status, send the message to update@identi.ca like you would to anyone in your buddies list.Technology rocks!

What happens to facebook account?

My vampiric existence was no longer a primary focus in life. I had been abandoning my future career as a fanatic facebooker for more than a month already. That’s a looooooong time my facebook friends had not been assaulted/harrassed/annoyed/flirted with/fought. I’m going to embark another journey soon, resurrecting whatever is dead and stalled. I’m going to start spamming friends with hundreds of baskets/eggs/snowballs/pokes/you name it I’ll do it muahahahahahhaha!

Anyway, feeling like going to the malls again. Not for buying stuff, only to see what’s going on in that world again. I haven’t been in touch and that’s just so not kind you know. I’ve also been looking for that big big mug but to no avail. So it seems for future mug-owners, this is such a bad news. Buy a bowl and attach the ear at the side ok tak? You get the same effect… hehe… in jest, in jest.

Feeling like shopping for groceries. I like taking stuff and throw them in the trolley. Get home and cook… yum yum.. thinking all the food I want to cook. I’m kinda hungry lah at the moment. Chicken and mushrooms in oyster sauce. Blackpepper shripms. Fuh! Ok pop that cloud now.

And also I feel like buying books. Such a long time since I opened a book before bedtime and read. Stupid work I must say kept messing with my mind, couldn’t have deep baby sleep these days. I want to reread all Harry Potter’s. It’s dangerous if I walk in to any bookstores now, so I resolute to reread existing old books. That should do it right? As to not making empty promises (lalala…) let’s see if I can fit the books somewhere before sleep. Hmm… *deep in thought*

Most of it involved work, nothing much on personal level. In no chronological order, I got off Brunei project, started joining TN + MT team, joined Mofaz team, trained as an FPX plugin installer, implemented symfony in projects, had my first part-time job (and gonna get paid soon!), changed job, went to Redang, laptop lost and replaced, phone lost and bought, joined facebook, bought a car, learned to use chopsticks, finally got over The First Love and managed to meet him face to face, was in brief relationship with The Foreigner, was in brief relationship with The Jerk (yes I was in 2 relationships this year – hard to believe myself), opened a trust fund account, Ammar went to Egypt, Mueh got a 4.00 CGPA, started to like Hugh Laurie.

There’s this little girl in my distant family, belah mak, anak sedara ke hape ntah, she’s around 10 or 11 but god only knows how rude she is with older people. Sangat la takde manners bila bercakap dengan orang tua. I witnessed once when she suddenly interrupted (verrrryy rudely) abah and an uncle talking, somewhere along the line “Hah! Bagus la tu, borak lagi, borak lagi!” at which I responded a quite verbal “Whoa!”. Terkejut weh tengok budak kecik buat camtu kat orang tua. Well dia memang dah kena cap ‘budak pompuan kurang ajar’ by all of us adik-beradik (who were there witnessing as well) ever since.
