I love big bags

// January 29th, 2009 // 2 Comments » // personal

Yea I love them all. They’re so practical, can be a little bit heavy but it’s not like you’re carrying it with you all the time. So out of boredom tonight (more like I was looking to do something silly before I start doing my work) so I took a picture of my handbag and turned it upside down and started scrounging for whatever it is that has been living in there. I was quiet amazed at how much I can squeeze everything in there all this while.

My mom bought me this bag

My mom bought me this bag

Stuff in the bag

Stuff in the bag

In my bag currently:

  • 1 little notebook/organizer
  • 2 sachets of Nescafe 3 in 1
  • my purse
  • coin purse
  • camera
  • a tiny box of Clorets
  • 2 pens (black and red)
  • couple of movie ticket stubs
  • a necklace
  • a pair of earings
  • a bottle of shower gel (it’s for my mom)
  • a pack of plastic bandages (to wrap around my burned finger)
  • a lighter
  • a RM5 Nando’s voucher (ang pau from Mr. Foong =/)
  • 2 movie vouchers
  • my namecards
  • a couple of membership cards
  • 1 tube of vaseline
  • my ’skema’ goverment nametag
  • 1 pack full of jelly sticks!
  • some misplaced coins
  • my handphone
  • some receipts
  • my car keys
  • my house keys

and that’s it. Sometimes I even have a book in there. Looking at the list, the most techie stuff I have is my phone haha! Everything else is normal lah for a simple girl.

I just remembered something. I was planning to apply henna last weekend because the one I have is almost gone. I always put it on my left hand. Now that one finger is recuperating on the spot where henna would’ve been applied on, so can’t do. Else there’ll be big black circle on my middle finger, not so nice leh. Problems with henna on right hand is that it attracts people’s attention eaaasily.

I feel sleepy now but have to make up time for some work. I watched tv just now – darn. Damn you magic box. Time stealer.

Why I never blog about my job? I mean putting up codes and stuff….

Fuh it’s been a while. Much has going on but have no time to spill. So I’m just going to post some pointless pictures….

Oh yes, I’ll mention one news though: the house I’m staying, it has no phone cable. Isn’t that funny. When you take out that white cover thing and you’ll discover a blank hole there, nothing of communication value available there. Isk! Penat aku register line tepon. Ni nak kena tarik wiring lain and it’ll cost me a good RM150! Giler ape. Hmmpphh!!! Tak tau ape nak buat. In the mean time, I’m so restless having nothing to do at night.

Those of you who have never seen a batu giling before – I recommend you to get out more. And those leaves are henna. I don’t get people putting in nasi la, serbuk cili la, serbuk kari la, serba serbi nak masuk to get it red. Just use the leaves la it will do all the work for you – but have to make sure you get them from the right kind of pokok. Only pokok yang bunganya putih are going to look good on your fingers – trust me.

Cheese biscuits are never my thing – yak! Berminyak and masin. I don’t mean I don’t eat anything with minyak in it, I just don’t like the oily feeling on my fingers afterwards. The hassle of wiping it off everytime. Letih lah (I’m such a drama kan? hahahahah!). Peanut butter pun, I’m not crazy about it. One spread on a slice boleh la, itu pun a thin spread. But anyway, when you combine these 2 together – giler sedap ok!

This is a very magical beras to me. From experience, if you leave the cooked rice overnight and forget about it till noon the next day, a good chance that nasi is basi already. But not when it’s Beras Faiza Emas! – free advertisement sini aaaa… but really, this beras giler bagus. Last night’s nasi still good the next night – I’m telling you it’s impossible but I saw it happened. And I don’t mean put it in a container and shove it in the fridge. Leave it there out in the open, not even in an air tight container, I’m impressed. Bagus aaa brand Faiza ni.

One more thing. Beras Ponni Faiza is the greatest beras ever. Mahal skit la tapi sedap.

Back to the title of this post. Dah ending baru nak kupas topic. But anyway, you know I’m just wondering. I’m a developer but unlike so many others I’m helpless at blogging about the techie stuff. Maybe Adda has the answer.

Oooh I just got my business/call cards, whatever you want to call it. And it’s ugly (lalalalalala) – tu la I don’t know why they don’t want to hire a designer.

On another note -

Happy Birthday mak!!

We got her a food processor. Ye lah sounds like ‘we’ but yang swipe is yours truly. Takpela mak punya pasal. She’s been talking about it months already – pengaruh Martha Stewart.

Beautiful morning

Awwww isn’t he adorable. His mom wrote me a latter, telling me he’s in KG2 now. I guess that means kindergarten level 2? Wrote him a letter the other day. With my handwriting it’s going to be hard for the staff to translate to lebanese languange but hey I wrote really really big. Short and sweet.

You know when you spend more time typing than writing, when you get the chance to write it strikes you funny. You’ll try to find the perfect position for your hand to sit on the table while holding the pen. I write on blank paper. Even though I’m used to it and can write in beautiful straight lines, I was struggling to get it right. I’m looking out for new penpals this time. The thing about penpals you have to accept is that 80% of them won’t last. But something you lost, you’ll gain back in the future. You just going to have to keep at it. In the long run, if you’re persistent enough you’ll be surprised at how long you’ve been corresponding with each other.

I must admit penpaling is not for everyone. What with emails and technology, some people find it unproductive to still write and go to the post office when you can write and get a reply within a few hours. I’m just saying I still feel it is well worth it.

And now what do we have here?

Ahhh… stacks of kad raya! Every year I send out the same amount. I send them to close friends, former close friends, future close friends, special close friends and recently made friends….. hehehehe….. Notice, no family. Hahaha! I see them everyday so what’s the point. Except for Ammar since he’s abroad. Wait till he’s all settled and figured out what he’s address is.

My inai on my fingers dah nak abis. So have to apply new. I tried the one in tube mak bought me. The color is yellowish orange. It’s supposed to be reddish orange! Last time I tried another tube and the color wowed me but it faded so quickly I was so frustrated. This thing in tubes is perfect if you want to decorate your hands with all sorts of flowers and plants which I personaly dislike. Honestly, I don’t like henna in a tube. I prefer grinding the henna leaves and make the paste myself. It’s not that hard. You don’t have to add some nasi or anything else. I wonder where the rubbish comes from. Just leave it to the leaves. They work magic.

I’m thinking of letting my hair grow long. I don’t know. Maybe I keep it short as always. Maybe this time long?

The connection is shitty here in Brunei. Okay it’s not Brunei, it’s this particular website we’re working on. Seriously those people responsible for network and connection there don’t have a clue what they’re working with OR maybe they’ve tried but there’s nothing they can do anymore to fix it so help them god.

Until it’s fixed then only can I do my work so help me god.

Got here yesterday. And I must say the trip, although it was tiring, was very pleasing. I met such an agreeable gentleman on the plane. He’s attending his sister-in-law’s son’s wedding here. He was travelling with his family. He’s got 4 great kids. Amanda, Isabelle, Marcus and one more girl (I forgot the name already – starts with J). He’s in baja selling business for about 4 years now. The company he works for is owned by Richard Koh (or was it Robert Koh), claimed to be one of the richest man in Malaysia. Before that he worked in data center for Tabung Haji in Kelana Jaya. He lives in Damansara Utama with his family. He’s been to France. He demostrated on the plane how being in plantation business is much more profitable than in IT hardware. It’s interesting to know that all those plantation giants are going to merge soon. He uses the airsick bag to throw the sampah and let the Air Asia to do some real work instead of just walking up and down the aisle. He reads on the plane. He thinks flying Air Asia is a waste of time (flight delays are most likely to happen). He offered me sweets before the the plane took off. With the kids, he’s still got a long way to go. He theorized lightheartedly that kids these days wants all the expensive stuff, let the parents use the cheap ones. He exampled one of his girls walking in front of us pointing at her backpack, and then pointed at me and my backpack. Aiyah I felt a sheepish grin on my face (this one is different, I paid for it).

In the plane, Marcus asked me how long would it take for the plane to crash. At one point his dad was explaining about something he asked earlier. He didn’t believe him and then proceed to declare his dad is a bullshit artist. And then he said Isabelle is a katak bawah tempurung…hahaha…

Anyway my point is I didn’t even know this guy before I got in the plane. And the icebreaker was only “Is this seat taken?” (and hearing Marcus asking about the aircond not being cold enough later on – I just had to smile at a child’s curiosity). I got out of the plane feeling exuberated. You know that kind of feeling when you suddenly think the world is a wonderful place with kind people to live with. Hey remember here I was heading to the dreadful Brunei, you have to give me credit for trying. And thank the family for that lively encounter.

I didn’t get the gentleman’s name though. Could it be Richard (or Robert) Koh himself?? hehehehehe couldn’t resist imagining the unimaginable. Maybe not coz he seems very down to earth kind of guy.

Oh I finally got to put on henna on my fingers last Teusday. It’s been so long. If people think henna is a sign of being engaged or married, that’s just so katak bawah tempurung… hahaha
